We also had to share some examples from the Eudora Welty piece. Our homework is to read, annotate, and answer questions for TKAM chapter 7. See me if you need a copy.

Extra credit opportunity

Filed under: Daily Scribe — awilloughby @ 3:48 pm

TKAM  Today we checked and collected chapter 5 questions on TKAM and then in period 5, we continued notes on the TKAM power point. I introduced the extra credit assignment and a lot of students grumbled because it requires that you go without electronic devices in an attempt to experience life in the 1930s. See me if you need a copy! Period 6 took notes on essay writing tactics. No homework tonight, but you might consider doint the extra credit!

He Knows if You’ve Been Bad or Good

Filed under: Daily Scribe — awilloughby @ 3:43 pm

Today we had a vocabulary quiz on the last list from The Pearl. I decided that since so many of my honors students are not doing their homework, I would check that they wrote it down by the end of the day and if its not signed by a parent the following day, I will call parents and let them know. Speaking of homework, we are supposed to read chapter 5 in TKAM tonight.

Another Day, Another Form of Our Test

Filed under: Daily Scribe — awilloughby @ 3:42 pm

Hi. We have been experimenting with different ways to compete within groups in the last two chapters of The Pearl. Period 6 is pretty much done and Period 5 (a bit more talkative) are still finishing up. No homework over the weekend, but look for an essay assignment next week and also the vocabulary quiz.

Miss me?

Filed under: Daily Scribe — awilloughby @ 11:20 pm

Hi. We had some technical difficulties with this blog but now its okay. We had a quiz on chapters 5-6 of The Pearl. We are doing this in groups and its going well in Period 5, but Period 6 seems bored out of their skulls. So I may need to do something different for them if it doesn’t work out. The homework tonight is just to review the annotations your group made and be prepared for the quiz.
