For the past two days in Freshman Honors, we have been taking an oral test on Chapter 3 of The Pearl. See Mrs. Willoughby-Jones if you missed it.
Chapter 4 Vocabulary Today we read for 15 minutes as usual and then we went over the new vocabulary for chapter 4. Afterwards we started reading chapter 4 ,and that was the end of our day.
Due to the short schedule from the assembly for homecoming, today’s class was cut short. The only plans for today were to take the vocabulary quiz, in which many students did not do well.
Today we read for 15 minutes and then we watched a video on John Steinbeck. We didn’t take any notes. Then we were given the choice of working on our sense poems or the vocabulary story, both of which are due tomorrow.
Today we opened our book and labeled everything having to do with the theme, figurative language, or foreshadowing in chapter three. The people who didn’t take the vocabulary quiz last week had to make it up after class.
Today, we went to the library to register with turnitin.com. Then we went back to class and read and annotated more of chapter 3 in The Pearl. In Period 6, we had a little excitement with the power outage. We didn’t get much work done after that since it was too dark and I could tell my students wouldn’t be able to concentrate. No homework tonight, but tomorrow night you’ll have to study for a vocabulary test and Thursday your Sense poems are due.
1. read 15 minutes

We finished the Chapter 2 test and got some of our assignments back with our grades. Then we had time to do our vocabulary stories.
Today we had our oral quiz on Chapter 2 of The Pearl. It nearly the whole period. Creative vocabulary stories are due tomorrow!
